Rachel McAdams Covers Elle June 2011

Rachel McAdams Covers Elle
Rachel McAdams covers the June 2011 issue of Elle Magazine, clad in leather pants and sporting huge ’80s hair. The Ontario-born former “Mean Girl” chats about what it was like to reunite on set with her Wedding Crashers co-star Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s new film, Midnight in Paris. The film co-stars Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates, and French First Lady Carla Bruni. It opened the 64th annual Cannes Film Festival tonight. Rachel was spotted arriving at the Nice Airport Tuesday, trying to go incognito in shades and a hat. It’s definitely a different dynamic from the last time we were together,” says the actress. “It wasn’t as fun being mean. I love that Woody likes good guys to be good guys and bad guys to be bad guys. Owen seemed to respond really well when I was a really bad guy.”

Rachel says she often has a difficult time imagining herself in certain roles offered to her.

“Sometimes I don’t think I’m the best person for the job,” she admits. “That was the case with Morning Glory. Sometimes I think, ‘Really? You see me as this?’ Just because I don’t see myself that way, does that mean I shouldn’t do it?” she reveals to Elle. ”..With Mean Girls, I originally auditioned for the part that Lindsay Lohan played. I wouldn’t have seen myself playing Regina at all. But when I read the script, I thought, Oh, this part is way more fun; I wonder who will play that.…”

Rachel On Critics’ Reaction to Morning Glory: “It’s funny, because so many people said to me, ;It’s the kind of film you don’t see anymore, done in a way that isn’t done anymore.’ I thought that was a really positive thing, but apparently not. I only hear these businesspeople: ‘Well, no one was sure who it was for’”

On Being a Romantic: “I am. When Billie Holiday comes on, I can’t help but be transported—and I’m sure it wasn’t as romantic then at all—but that’s the wonderful part of my job: dressing up and walking down the street in New York or Toronto, pretending I’m in the ’40s.”

On Finding Inspiration in Her Parents’ Marriage: “[They are] still together and still in love. I’m very blessed that way. I had a great example of love in front of me, and that’s probably what makes me such a romantic, because I’ve seen it firsthand.”

Her Expectations For Relationships: “You grow up and you assume that everyone is like that, and you quickly realize that they’re not, and then you have those days when you wonder if you’re going to find it for yourself. It’s such a hard thing to find. I think it was more that realization that rocked me.”

Cameron Diaz Covers Elle UK & Maxim Hot 100 Issue 2011

Bad Teacher’s Cameron Diaz pulls double cover duty appearances on the June 2011 editions of Elle Magazine UK and Maxim, which placed the lovely and leggy thirtysomething on its annual Hot 100 ranking of the world’s most beautiful women.

“I think we have to make our own rules,” the 38-year-old told the men’s mag when quizzed for her thoughts on marriage. “I don’t think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don’t suit our world any longer.”

She added: “I love men more than anything. I want all men to be happy and have rad women in their lives. But guys need women who challenge them and don’t let them get away with their shit. Women, conversely, need to not be crazy bitches who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them.”

Of her romance with Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, Cammy was noticably less candid: “It’s really awesome. I love baseball!”

Other notable names on this year’s Hot 100, released Tuesday, include Victoria’s Secret supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Perfect Couples beauty Olivia Munn (#2), “California Gurl” Katy Perry (#3), lovely and leggy Cameron Diaz (#4), Black Swan star Mila Kunis (#5), Natalie Portman (#8), Sean Penn’s side piece Scarlett Johansson (#14), 2009′s Hot 100 winner Olivia Wilde (#16), former “Transformers” siren Megan Fox (#17), and pop princess Britney Spears (#25), Charlie’s Angel for the New Age Minka Kelly (#52), Miley Cyrus (#65), Harry Potter Emma Watson (#69), femcee Nicki Minaj (#75) and Erin Andrews (#91).

The list also included a dash of royalty – Prince William’s new bride, Kate Middleton, came in at 26th place.

Elle March 2011 Covergirl Katy Perry Taking Grandma To Grammys

Park it, Russell! Comedian Russell Brand has been sidelined by his new grandmother-in-law, who will be wife Katy Perry’s plus one at this weekend’s 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.

“My grandma who is 90 years old, she is coming with me and she is going to be my date on the red carpet because I figured if I don’t win any Grammys, I still get to go home with my granny,” the 26-year-old singer remarks in the March 2011 issue of Elle Magazine, on newsstands Feb. 15.

Katy — is nominated for four Grammys, including the coveted Album of the Year prize — when music’s biggest night takes center stage in Hollywood on Sunday, Feb. 13. Perry will also perform a medley of songs from her hit 2010 album, Teenage Dream.

Below check out a few more soundbites from Katy’s chat with March’s Elle:

Katy On How She Became A Successful Recording Artist: “I had two cars repossessed, and I was writing bad checks, but I gave myself a timeline. I thought, Okay, if I don’t make it by 25, I’m just going to get married and pop out some babies and do some crafts.”

Katy On Her Personality: “It’s important to be relatable and normal. And I think that what helps with that, for me, is that I had the rug pulled out from underneath my feet so many times. It was like, ‘Listen up, bitch, you’re not going to get served this on a silver platter—you’ve got to work for it!’ I don’t feel like I can act like an entitled bitch yet! I still have so much to prove.”

On Her Figure: “I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I’m generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145. And I had enormous boobs that I didn’t know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder…and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know…that these things would come in handy someday.”

On Her Current Look: “Bettie Page meets Wonder Woman meets Doris Day meets Judy Jetson meets Natalie Wood meets Daphne Guinness meets ChloĆ« Sevigny kind of look.”

On Husband Russell Brand: “Everything clicked really fast. We kind of instantly got past all the surfacey stuff. And ever since then, there hasn’t been a dull moment. We both needed balance, and we give that to each other. It wasn’t about me taming him, which is what everyone always says—it was about timing.”

On Performing: “I think some people will die on the stage, and I’m not so sure I want to do that. Like, I want to have kids! I’m totally fine with saying that. I think some people are scared because they’re worried it’s going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life.”

On Her Career Today: “I feel like I’m at a point in my life right now where I could potentially stick around. I don’t feel like a diva, but I think diva is a great and powerful word in the sense of what Beyonce makes it. And maybe I can’t be Beyonce, but maybe I can be Cyndi Lauper. I mean be like her, not be her. That would just be weird.”

The news likely won’t come as much of a surprise to longtime SJP fans, who have followed the stylish star’s rise from through the Hollywood ranks over the past 30 years. Audiences watched the girl who once parlayed as Broadway’s Annie grow from an awkward teen on the shortlived 80’s sitcom Square Pegs to a pop culture phenomenon on Sex And The City.

But, at times, the aging process hits Sarah — now 45 — herself like a ton of Manolos Blahniks.
