It took a while, but ravishing redhead Rihanna’s finally ready for her covergirl closeup on the front of the April issue of Vogue Magazine.

The esteemed publication chose the curvaceous “Rude Boy” singer as the cover girl for the 10th anniversary of its annual “Shape Issue.” The Bajan beauty with affinity for flamed-hued hair is pictured in a sheer floral dress which clings to her enviable curves covering artfully covering her modesty with the green blue and red flowers. Her bright red hair, which partially covers her face, is accentuated by bright red lips against a blue sunset background shot by celebrity photog Annie Leibovitz.

Ri’s Vogue debut has been a longtime coming.

Rihanna was devastated when a scheduled photoshoot with The Fashion Bible was canned on the heels of the songstress’ humiliating naked picture scandal. After face down — ass up flicks of a woman alleged to be the “Umbrella” hitmaker found their way online, Vogue editor Anna Wintour pulled the plug on Rih’s Vogue spot.

They don’t call her “The Devil In Prada” for nothin’….

“Anna hasn’t returned any of her calls. Rihanna’s so upset….She hopes the people at Vogue change their minds,” a Star Magazine spy squealed at the time.

It took a while –but the flame-haired “Umbrella” will grace the cover of the nation’s leading Fashion Bible for the first time in her career this spring.

“Just wrapped my first American Vogue cover shoot with Annie Leibovitz…Rah! #SEXY” the “Only Girl in the World” Tweeted Wednesday.

The big announcement comes nearly two years after Vogue’s tough-as-nails editor, Anna Wintour, nixed plans to profile the Grammy winner after nude pictures of the star — allegedly leaked by Ri-Ri’s former flame Chris Brown — surfaced online in the spring of 2009.

Rihanna is expected to hit the cover of Vogue’s April or May issue.

Golden Globe nominee Natalie Portman opens up about her most provocative role yet in Black Swan in the Jan. 2011 issue of Vogue.

“Lesbian scenes, sex scenes, they’re all over the place!” she tells Vogue. “But because it’s me, people are shocked. I see the value of a good-girl persona—it’s so easy to subvert it!”

The actress trained 8 -hours a day for months to get her body in the shape needed to play a prima ballerina that is stick thin and suffers from a number of self destructive habits.

And when the 2011 Golden Globe nominations were announced on Tuesday, all her hard work paid off.

“The only way to be perfect, is to allow chaos and madness into your life,” Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky tells Vogue. “Natalie has very few opportunities to express the dangerous side of her, and there’s a lot of colors there. She teases; she’s playful and sexy and so beautiful it hurts.”

On Starting Her Own Production Company For “Female Comedies:” “Women… are generally not allowed to be beautiful and funny, and certainly not vulgar. There’s a difference between being in a bra and underpants as an object on a men’s magazine cover and playing yourself – a woman with desires and needs who loves and laughs with her friends – in a bra and underpants.”
