American Idol season 10 winner, Scotty McCreery, and runner-up Lauren Alaina have signed up with major record label, Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope, for the release of their debut albums, it was announced Monday, June 6.
The American Idol announced this season's winner and the runner-up 2 weeks ago on May 24.
Country singer, Scotty, of North Carolina will begin work on his album this week in Nashville, Tenn. He told MTV that his was going to be a 'good ol' country album.
At 17, Scotty is the second youngest American Idol Winner along with Jordin Sparks, who won the sixth season American Idol in 2007.
The 16-year-old Alaina will too, begin work on her country album after she preforms at the CMA Music Fest in Nashville this coming weekend.
