The pundits over at RottenTomatoes.com sure seem to think so.
J. Love found her way back into the headlines this week, and for once her waistlines, rotating romances, and “vajazzled vajayjay” aren’t the hot topics of conversation. This week, Slate.com complied the best and worst reviewed actors and actresses based on RottenTomatoes.com scores since 1985. TV’s Ghost Whisperer – who has starred on the big screen in movies such Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, both of those Garfield movies, and a critically-panned TV biopic about Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn – has never starred in a movie deemed “Fresh” (scoring above 60 percent on Rotten Tomatoes). Since we’re being honest, Jennifer Rotten Tomatoes career average sits at an abysmal 18.9 percent.
That’s the worst review record of any actress in recent memory!
Ouch.
Perhaps someone should shoot a memo over to Law & Order creator Dick Wolf. The TV titan is reportedly courting Love Hewitt as a possible replacement for Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay. Hargitay, the small screen’s highest-earning actress, will see her alter ego Olivia Benson fade largely into the background once SVU returns to NBC for a 13th season in the fall. Jen’s in chats to play a young NYPD detective who will join the Sex Crimes Unit during the second half of the upcoming season.
The worst reviewed male actor dishonor goes to Chuck Norris; the martial artist has been largely missing from the World of Employed Actors since hanging up his badge on TV’s Walker, Texas Ranger back in the mid-90s. Best Actor went to Frenchman Daniel Auteuil, Best Actress went to The Sweet Hereafter’s Arsinee Khanjian (Huh?), Best Director was Mike Leigh (Another Year, Secrets, and Lies), and Worst Director went to Dennis Dugan (Grown Ups, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Happy Gilmore).
