Academy Award-winning actress Melissa Leo is putting pen to paper on her life story. Leo is prepping a still-untitled memoir, expected on booksellers’ shelves in 2013, says Priscilla Painton, executive editor of Simon & Schuster, who will publish the tome.
“Melissa has a moving and gutsy story to tell, with a very happy ending. We look forward to making it possible for her to tell it.”
In February, the Treme star won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Alice Ward, the no-nonsense, real-life mom of boxing champ Micky Ward in the critically-acclaimed biopic The Fighter. Ward died of heart failure in a Boston hospital last week.
