Selena Gomez called into Z100 to confirm her relationship with Justin Bieber, and into "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" to acknowledge her obsession with Jason Mraz.
Doing the media rounds to promote the lead single – Who Says - from her upcoming third studio album, Selena called into the radio stations on Monday. She also visited the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City to tape her appearance on Late Night with David Letterman.
On Z100, Selena, 18, indirectly confirmed she was dating Bieber, 17, by drawing a parallel with Jesse McCartney dating Katie Cassidy.
She started by talking about the haters amidst Bieber fans.
"It hurts, it really does. I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong. I've been best friends with him for a very long time. It does hurt my feelings a lot but I try not to focus on it. I have a strong family and great fans," she said.
"But I have to agree with them sometimes. I loved Jesse McCartney. I was obsessed with him. He dated Katie Cassidy when he was 16 or 17. I hated her, absolutely hated her. I was mortified that he was with Katie and I wanted to be with him. He was my screen-saver! I just did a movie (Monte Carlo) with Katie Cassidy and she was the nicest person ever."
Selena later called into "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" to calm rumors about her relationship with 33-year-old singer Jason Mraz.
"I have always been assessed with Jason," she told host Ryan Seacrest. "so they asked me if I could do a duet with a male singer who would it be. I said I'd have a heart attack if I got to work with Jason Mraz."
"Did anybody get upset with that: being your favorite boy to work with," Seacrest asked alluding to Biber.
"Not that I know of. I actually think they were quite relieved," Selena responded.
