When it comes to marrying Jessica Simpson, staying wed provides better job security than a Master’s Degree from Harvard!
The singer/actress-turned-fashion maven’s jobless fiancee Eric Johnson is having the prenuptial law laid down to him by Jessica’s meddling father, Papa Joe Simpson. The couple – who announced their engagement in November after just six months of dating – have been discussing their options and are in the process of agreeing to a legal deal over their assets before they tie the knot this summer.
Jessica is said to be worth $750 million, with her Jessica Simpson lifestyle brand expected to take in $1 billion this year, and former NFL star Eric wants to show he’s not after her money.
“There will definitely be a prenup….Eric understands that there needs to be a prenup. He’s supportive of it,” a source close to the twosome told Britain’s Now Magazine over the weekend.
Though from the sounds of it, being Mr. Jessica Simpson is almost as good as being Oprah’s Other Half.
Just ask Stedman Graham.
As it stands, Spy Types say, Eric will pocket $673,000 as a “wedding gift.” He’ll subsequently receive $270,000 for each anniversary, with even larger cash payouts expected at the end of five and 10 years of marriage.
“They already have a joint checking account,” added the source, “and Jessica also gave him his own high-limit Visa Black Card and an American Express Platinum card!”
Just like working for the same company long-term, huh? Talk about giving a new meaning to the expression “It’s cheaper to keep her!”
