Kalki Korchlin used dark and morbid music to get under the skin of her character as a spoilt brat in her forthcoming film Shaitan, being directed by Bejoy Nambiar.
The 28-year-old Indian actress of French descent got rid of her current play list on her iPod prior to filming and replaced it with gloomy goth music.
"Kalki plays the role of Amy – a spoilt rich girl and to get into character she'd keep listening to these gloomy goth songs right until she finished shooting and dubbing for the film. She is very excited about the film and is quite a perfectionist herself," reveals a source close to the actress.
Produced by Anurag Kashyap and co-produced by Tipping Point Films, Shaitan is the first of its kind film on teenage angst and the rebellious attitudes of youth in metropolitan cities, where one night of drunken partying leads to twists in events. The target audience of the film is urban youth.
The film additionally stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Neil Bhoopalam (LSD fame), Shiv Pandit, Kirti Kulhari and Gulshan Devaiah.
Shaitan is scheduled for a June 10 release.
