Charlie Sheen Returns to TV

Charlie Sheen has reportedly signed on with Lionsgate production for a new comedy show that will earn him a fatter paycheck than Two and a Half Men.

"Charlie's character will be very similar to the one he played on Two And a Half Men, however the show will be a lot racier," an insider reportedly told RadarOnline.

Cable television's TBS, have recently begun expanding their comedy division and appear to be the strongest bidder, so far, for the new sitcom.

"Cable makes more sense because it offers more creative freedom," told the insider. "In other words the show can be raunchier and more outrageous, which is perfect for Charlie!"

The deal binds Sheen to produce ten episodes with Lionsgate initially, expanding to 90 more shows if the show gets good ratings.

The contract could potentially span out for 8 years, airing 100 episodes, and fetching Charlie more money than he did while on CBS'sTwo And a Half Men.

That is, if Charlie can manage to keep his nerves together this time.

"It's still a risk but the risk is worth it because so many people are interested in Charlie and his wacky life...they are bound to watch the show," our insider says."

Lionsgate Television production also plans to release on TV Charlie's live stage performances; My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option show.

A Lionsgate, however, declined to comment about a deal when quizzed by Gossip Cop, while a TBS spokesperson said the network is "not in discussions" with Sheen for a possible project.
