Watch out, Anderson and Katie! Survivor host Jeff Probst has been tipped to front a daytime talk show for CBS, premiering in the fall of 2012.

The Emmy winner signed a deal with the network for a syndicated one-hour daytime chatter. He’ll join a cluttered schedule in the post-Oprah daytime world. Katie Couric and Ricki Lake have inked deals to kick off talk shows next year as well. Anderson Cooper and Rosie O’Donnell will premiere talk shows this fall.
“Anyone who has seen Jeff on Survivor knows how he connects with people and has an instinct that makes him a natural and compelling host for daytime,” CBS President of Programming and Development Aaron Meyerson tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Whether it’s a newsmaker-of-the-day, a celebrity or ordinary folks, Jeff will go further than typical discussion.”
“I’m fascinated with human nature and thrilled that this show will allow me the opportunity to connect with real people and explore their stories on a personal level. As I continue with Survivor, I am excited to extend my relationship with CBS with this new adventure in the world of daytime,” Probst exclaimed in a statement this afternoon.
In March, Survivor was renewed for a 23rd and 24th season on CBS. The reality show is currently taping its next two installments in Somoa.
