The Ugly Betty’s star America Ferrera’s romance has finally brought her to the altar, her rep divulged to PEOPLE. This week she exchanged vows with Ryan Piers Williams in an exclusive ceremony at which only family members and close friends were invited.
Ferrera, 27, and her boyfriend, director Williams, have known each other for many years. They got to know each other when the actress was brought in to play in Williams’ student film at the University of Southern California. In 2007 they settled down together and had been engaged in an unostentatious relationship until it evolved into an engagement (last June).
Discussing her engagement with PEOPLE, Ferrera said they had bonded from the start feeling in each other the same passion for what they were doing, their professional interests being “something that really drew us to each other.”
According to her rep, among the guests were Vanessa Williams and Rebecca Romijn from the Ugly Betty cast, Romijn’s hubby Jerry O’Connell and Blake Lively from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The Golden Globe Award winner looked resplendent in an Amsale’s Christos dress and Fred Leighton earrings.
