superstar Mariah Carey and her unborn twins are resting comfortably at home after spending several hours at a Los Angeles hospital following a labor false alarm over the weekend.
Carey, who is eight months pregnant with twins, was briefly hospitalized Sunday after having contractions. The “Dreamlover” singer and her husband, rapper/radio-TV personality Nick Cannon, thought Mariah was ready for delivery, only to discover she was really suffering from a condition commonly known as Braxton Hicks, or faux labor.
“I started having contractions last night..went 2 the hospital. Finally they said I could come home after they got it under control,” Carey, 41, wrote in a flurry of Tweets over the weekend. “We have a few more weeks 2 go but- wow!!!” she later wrote.
Ironically, the singer celebrated her own birthday on Sunday, March 27, so had the twins been born on Sunday, they would have shared a birthday with their famous mom.
In October, Carey and Cannon confirmed rampant rumors surrounding the songstress’ pregnancy, but kept details under wraps as Carey had suffered a miscarriage two years ago.
