Aishwarya Rai rocked a sparkling nude churidar set at the Lavasa Women's Drive 2011 Car Rally Winners Award ceremony at Hotel Hyatt Regency at Sahar, Mumbai on Friday, March 4. It amazes us how Aishwarya can switch between high octane glamor, as at the Oscars, and muted ethnic charm without altering the extent to which our jaws drop when we look at her.
The 37-year-old Guzaarish star wore a long bell sleeve patterned kurta with silver embellishments on neck, cuffs, and hem; and a matching silk churidar and dupatta. She accessorized with golden strappy heels, a watch, stud earrings and multiple rings. Her deep auburn hair was styled in luscious waves with a side parting. She wore thick eyeliner, golden eyeshadow and pink glossy lipstick. Aishwarya showed her humility and warmth when on the spur of the moment she hugged one of the winners who narrated an emotional anecdote related to her late cancer victim mother. Also present were Jackie Shroff, Adnan Sami and film F.A.L.T.U. lead pair Puja Gupta and Jacky Bhagnani. This was Aishwarya's first public appearance in India following her vacation in New Zealand where husband Abhishek Bachchan was filming Players. Later, the couple went to LA after and walked the red carpet during the Oscars on January 27. Aishwarya hasn't taken on a new project since Guzaarish that released in November 2010 and quickly sank at the box office.
