A first look of the controversial Bollywood film 'Dear Friend Hitler' was screened at the Berlin Film Festival.
The screening helped answer many question, not least of which - Why is Bollywood dabbling with a film on Hitler?
'When we took the out-takes of the film to the Berlin Film Festival, the audience was excited at the prospect of seeing such a subject and the character of Hitler played by Bollywood actor, shares Dr Anil Sharma, the film's producer.
The concept of an Indian actor playing the character of Hitler was appreciated at the Berlin film festival and the first look managed to stoke interest in the film from across the world.
During filming, the star cast chose to focus on the character they were playing, rather than controversial facet of the movie.
Raghuvir Yadav who has played the character of Hitler says, 'It's very difficult to play such a multifaceted character as Hitler.'
The film has the look and feel of international cinema.
Berlin film festival gave filmmakers an opportunity to clear their misconception about the film, which is not about Hitler's ideology, but how his ideology of violence conflicted with Gandhi's ideology of peace.
Anil Sharma says, 'There is no appraisal or reverence of Hitler's character in the movie.'
