Lindsay Lohan feels vindicated over the sale of a surveillance tape that allegedly shows her shoplifting a gold necklace from a jewelry store in the vicinity of her house.
The tape has been sold by jewelers Kamofie & Co. through a broker to media outlets who plan to air the footage.
Video grabs from the tape have already appeared on the web.
The DA is using the tape as evidence in its grand theft case against Lindsay and advised the jewelers not to show it to the public.
Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ that she feels the tape's sale by the jewelers is evidence that they accused her of shoplifting with an intent to profiteer.
In their justification for the tape's sale, the jewelers say they have lost a lot of business because shoppers are reluctant to visit their store following the shop lifting incident involving Lindsay.
On February 9, Lindsay was charged for felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace stolen from Kamofie & Co. store in January.
During a hearing in the case on February 22, the DA offered Lindsay a plea deal, but LA Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz made it clear to her that a plea deal will be an admission of her guilt and will involve jail time.
Lindsay says she didn't steal the necklace; it was loaned to her by the store and she is not ready to accept any plea deal that involves jail time.
