Lindsay Lohan has been receiving disconcerting text messages and voice mails from someone who claims to be watching her.
According to TMZ, Lindsay's team feels the stalker is none other than Sam Lufti, a close confidant of Britney Spears during her meltdown days leading to the 5051 psychiatric hold placed on her in January 2008.
Lindsay is currently under treatment for prescription drugs addiction at Betty Ford Clinic and stays at a halfway house in preparation for her release early next month. Concerned over the text messages, officials at Betty Ford are shifting Lindsay to a more secure location. Lindsay's team has warned Lufti to stay away from the rehabbing star.
Intriguingly, there is a Michael Lohan connection. TMZ has learnt that Sam Lufti has been in touch with Lindsay's dad. One of the text messages sent to Lindsay, misleadingly signed as being from Mike at TMZ, asked Lindsay to stay away from Dina Lohan. The contact phone number on the text was that of Sam Lufti.
Sam Lufti's association with Britney ended after she was placed under a conservatorship, which sought and obtained a restraining order against him. The conservators believed Lufti had put Britney on the path of destruction and arranged drugs for her.
Lufti has denied to TMZ that he is in anyway involved with the texts being sent to Lindsay. He says Lindsay has called him in the past, a claim that Lindsay's team denies, saying Lindsay doesn't know Lufti.
