Ranveer Singh is well on his way to stardom after his impressive debut in Band Baaja Baaraat.
Ranveer, who has a three film deal with Yash Raj Films, has been signed for their upcoming project to be directed by Shaad Ali (Bunty aur Babli).
Ranveer earlier worked with Shaad Ali as assistant director; their association goes back 8 years. Shaad introduced Ranveer to Yash Raj Films.
According to the Mumbai Mirror, Shaad first tried to rope in Shahid Kapoor for the project, but made no headway. He always had Ranveer in mind ; seeing the success of Band Baaja Baaraat convinced him he was wasting time trying to rope in Shahid.
"Shaad's script is a Gen X script and he was looking out for a young, contemporary talent," says a Mumbai Mirror source.
