Yana Gupta was born in Czechoslovakia and began modelling in the mid-1990s. Her career took a turn toward the east when she married Indian artist Satyakam Gupta in Pune and changed her last name from Synkova to Gupta. She divorced Satyakam Gupta. In 2008 she altered her given name to Yaana.
Yana was one of the strongest contenders in the popular TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi hosted by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.
Yana was photographed sitting cross-legged at the event and was also snapped while getting into her car. This is not the first time that wrong inner-wear has embarrassed Bollywood personalities. Mallika Sherawat has also been on the same list.
