JK Rowling’s life to be made into a movie
The real-life success story of JK Rowling, author of hit wizard series ‘Harry Potter’, is all set to be turned into a movie.
The film will trace the 45-year-old British writer’s journey from a single mother receiving state benefits to becoming an author worth an estimated USD 804 million following the worldwide success of the wizard franchise, reported Mirror online.
The lead role will be played by American actress Poppy Montgomery, famous for playing FBI agent Samantha Spade in US TV series ‘Without a Trace’.
Entitled ‘Strange Magic’, the straight-to-TV movie will also feature details of Rowling’s early life in the British West Country and the idea behind the successful ‘Harry Potter’ series following her train journey from Manchester to London.
The film will be shot in Canada after US film chiefs researched buildings in Edinburgh and found similar-looking ones closer to home.
