Miley Cyrus is hurt over her father Billy Ray's recent comments to the press about the Cyrus family and has been spending time with her mother Tish and her boyfriend, 'So Undercover' co-star Josh Bowman.
"Miley is upset," a source tells People magazine in its new issue. "She's very hurt and angry."
Miley, 18, has so far not commented on her father's remarks. She remains focused on her career and has been visiting a recording studio.
However, she has "seemed stressed, though she tries to hide it behind a constant smile," a source who sees Miley often tells People.
In an interview to GQ magazine's March issue, Billy Ray had said that he wished Disney channel's "Hannah Montana" had never happened because "the damn show destroyed my family."
He also blamed Miley's handlers for the teen star's frequent derailments.
Later, he acknowledged that his remarks were "explosive, and unintentionally so" and said he is now working on mending his family.
Desperation may have been behind Billy Ray's initial remarks to GQ magazine, a long time pal tells people; Billy Ray may have felt he had no other choice.
"Maybe he can't get the message of how much they mean to him across, and this is the way to do it."
