Pop charttoppers The Black Eyed Peas are reportedly planning a charity concert on the Great Lawn in Central Park this summer.
The band — comprised of music superstars will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie — have teamed up with Mayor Michael Bloomberg to put on a free show that will rival a similar one hosted by rock icons Simon and Garfunkel in the same park 30 years ago. Back in 1981, the duo hosted a free concert on The Lawn that was attended by more than 500,000 people and later released as an album.
The Peas’ Central Park showing is tentatively set for June 9.
