Goodbye Lullaby singer Avril Lavigne is saying farewell to singledom after accepting a marriage proposal from beau Brody Jenner during a romantic getaway in France last month, a new report claims.
Lavigne, 26, finalized the dissolution of her union with rocker Deryck Whibley less than a year ago, but she’s already emailing friends snaps of a dazzling diamond sparkler she received from the former Hiller — with the subject line “Ha Ha,” informants types reveal in the March 14 edition of Star Magazine.
The glossy writes: “Insiders tell Star that Brody, 27, did indeed pop the question to his girlfriend of about a year.”
But don’t expect any sky writers or wedding exclusives to supermarket mags, say those closest to the couple.
“It’s just her style to be coy rather than coming out with an announcement right away,” according to a pal.
Coy, however, isn’t exactly in the vocabulary of Linda Thompson, Brody’s socialite mom. After enduring her son’s failed romances with beauties like Kristin Cavallari and former Playboy Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole, we hear Dear Ole Mom’s been spilling the beans to anyone within earshot.
