Chelsea Handler says she wasn’t protecting Jennifer Aniston when she launched a vicious public tirade against Angelina Jolie last weekend.
But Jen still wishes she’d just shut up.
The blogosphere went bananas after the no-holds-barred comic blasted The Tourist actress during her stand-up comedy show in Newark, New Jersey last Friday night. Chelsea branded Angie a “homewrecker” and mocked the brunette for her much-lauded accomplishments as a humanitarian.
“She’s a homewrecker, she is. She can rescue as many babies from as many countries as she wants to. I don’t fucking believe you. She gives interviews, ‘I don’t have a lot of female friends.’ Because you’re a fucking cunt… You’re a fucking bitch,” Chelsea ranted to the merriment of audience members.
Angie has been in a relationship with Brad Pitt — the ex-husband of Handler’s close pal Jennifer Aniston — since 2005 — but the expletive-filled tirade has managed to put the Chelsea Lately hostess on the outs with Jen. Jennifer was spotted having a “heated” chat with Chelsea during a bash at Aniston’s Beverly Hills mansion last Saturday night.
“Jen has gone out of her way to keep her private feelings about that woman who stole her husband private and has always asked her friends to do the same,” an Aniston insider told PopEater Gossip Guy Rob Shuter Wednesday. “She is furious with Chelsea for bringing the whole situation back to life again and landing her on the cover of a weekly magazine tomorrow with a Brad headline….She hates drama or unnecessary attention and certainly doesn’t want to ever see her face on a tabloid again with a headline about Angie or Brad.”
Chelsea just doesn’t get what all the fuss is about. The acid-tongued blonde with romantic ties to rapper 50 Cent thoroughly enjoys taking Angie to task whenever given the chance, tipsters say.
“Chelsea doesn’t care. She thinks Angelina has used her kids to manipulate her image and gotten away with destroying a beautiful marriage. She’s going to shout it from the roof tops weather Jen likes it or not.Chelsea hates Angelina and doesn’t for one second buy that she is this good person rescuing children in need around the world. Everyone in Hollywood is scared to say what they really think about Angelina except Chelsea,” one source says. “She thinks Angie stole another woman’s husband and should be called out on it.”
Chelsea spent the recent Thanksgiving holiday in Mexico with Jennifer, and pals believe the outspoken star is a good influence on the former “Friend.”
“Chelsea is the best thing to happen to Jen. Chelsea isn’t afraid to tell Jen the truth even if it is painful. In the past Jen has made it clear that she doesn’t want her friends talking about what went down between her, Brad and Angie.”
