Demi Lovato Assault Victim Yet to Receive an Apology

Dancer Alex Welch, who was punched in the face by Demi Lovato, says she has yet to receive an apology from the Disney Star.

"To this day, I haven't gotten an apology. I've heard nothing," Welch told People magazine on Monday, December 6. "That's sad if you think that person is your friend."

Lovato, 18, assaulted Welch, 21, five weeks ago on a flight while touring South America with the Jonas Brothers. Following the assault Demi entered rehab for treatment of emotional and physical issues.

Explaining the lack of an apology, a source close to Lovato tells People, "Demi hasn't been able to call Alex because she is sequestered in treatment, but multiple efforts have been made to reach out to her."

Welch says Demi assaulted her without any warning or altercation, after Demi was pulled up by tour management for her behavior during a night out.

Lovato suspected one of the dancers of having reported on her; she called them aside and threatened them that if she found out who the person was there would be consequences.

Welch says that since she had not witnessed any wrong doing on Demi's part she was not worried.

However, while on the flight Lovato just walked up to her, punched her in the face and returned to her seat.

"I didn't get a call or text from Demi or a 'hey, you got a problem with me,' nothing," Welch says.

Welch adds that she is going public with details of the incident because, "No one should walk up and do that and brush it over, it's not right."
