Miley Cyrus knew about the leaked bong video weeks before it was published on the internet.
Her team managed to retrieve some of the leaked copies, but not all.
The video was filmed by a Miley "friend" during a party on November 28, five days after she turned 18. An illegal copy made from the friend's laptop leaked to the internet.
Sources tell TMZ that a college student contacted Miley's reps shortly after Thanksgiving and offered to give them a copy of the video.
Miley's camp sent a man to the college campus in the San Luis Obispo area and the student gave him a MacBook Pro with the Miley video on it in exchange for a new MacBook Pro. No money changed hands though it was discussed when negotiating the exchange.
Miley's team made a similar swap with another student.
But like fighter pilots say, it's the one that you didn't see that gets you.
We are guessing Miley's team ran out of luck before they ran out of MacBook Pros!
