Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron split recently.
"It's nothing dramatic. There's no third party involved," a source tells E! News.
Another source says, "They were together for so long. It just ran its course."
Hudgens and Efron met on the set of High School Musical in 2005. Hudgens confirmed she was dating Efron in an interview with Teen Magazine in October 2007.
Hudgens turns 22 tomorrow, December 14. She will complete filming for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island later this week in Hawaii.
Two weeks ago Efron was in Hawaii and the couple looked in love.
Efron, 23, is currently filming The Lucky One in New Orleans.
Sources tell E! News the former couple remain friends.
