GLAMOUR couple Andy Lee and Megan Gale have split after a four-year romance.
The pair quietly called their relationship quits in October, although remain close and each other’s strongest supporters.
“In October, Andy and Megan parted ways. They remain great friends and both think the world of each other,” a statement released by the pair said last night.
“Rumours that Megan was seen kissing Liz Hurley in a glass elevator are false and for those concerned, don’t worry as Andy managed to secure Hamish in the split.”
Gale and Lee last stepped out as a couple among the A-list guests at the Emirates marquee at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day, where the face of David Jones shone in a hugging black and white number.
It was in the same marquee on Derby Day in 2006 where sparks first flew between the high-flying pair.
Radio heavyweight Lee, who is part of the all-conquering Hamish and Andy Show on 2DayFM with Hamish Blake, said at the time he was flattered Gale had taken an interest.
“It must have been late in the day and she had too many wines,” he quipped.
Their relationship quickly flourished with Gale embracing Lee’s relaxed lifestyle.
Gale said in July she was lucky to have Lee as a partner.
“I’m in an amazing relationship with an awesome guy. I’m lucky. We put each other on top of the priority list,” she said.
The couple have no shortage of career demands with Lee, although scaling back his radio commitments with Blake at Fox FM to one day a week next year, still considering a number of television opportunities.
Gale continues to be David Jones’ favourite pin-up.
She also has produced a successful swimsuit range and is continuing to pursue an acting career, having impressed in the popular comedy I Love You Too this year.
