Prince William and Kate Middleton posed for their official engagement portraits last month for celebrity and fashion photographer Mario Testino.
A spokeswoman at Prince William's office confirmed the photo shoot to People magazine.
Images from the shoot, which is believed to have followed the couple's November 16 engagement announcement, will be released for publication in the days ahead.
Peruvian photographer Mario Testino lives in London and frequently works for the British Royal Family. In the past he has photographed Prince William, Prince Harry and their mother late Princess Diana.
Mario's candid pictures of Princess Diana taken for Vanity Fair in 1997 were exhibited at Kensington Palace in 2005.
