Jaime Pressly and husband of 16 months attorney Simran Singh are calling it quits. The former My Name Is Earl actress filed for divorce from her entertainment lawyer spouse Simran Singh this month — confirming recent tabloid whispers, which dished that the pair were headed for Splitsville.
Boy is Jaime experiencing a difficult start to the new year. Just last week, she was slapped with a tax lien after following more than $637,000 behind in US state and federal taxes. The blonde Southern belle was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving earlier this month, further compounding her legal woes.
Pressly, who played Joy on the now-defunct NBC comedy, married Singh in Sept. 2009. In divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Jan. 21, the 33-year-old star cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and Dec. 27 as the date of separation. That was less than two weeks before Pressly was picked up on that Jan. 5 DUI charge.
