Mirror Mirror from the Mall, is that Girl from Twilight the fairest of ‘em all?
Kristen Stewart — who rose to fame playing Bella in the blockbuster Twilight Saga — has been offered the lead role in Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.
Snow White And The Huntsman will see the huntsman become Snow White’s protector as they try to escape from the evil queen who ordered her death. Kristen is the No. 1 choice to play the fantasy princess in director Rupert Sanders’s fairytale retelling, in which will feature Viggo Mortensen as the eponymous huntsman and Oscar winner Charlize Theron as The Evil Queen Ravenna.
Though Kristen will not have to audition for the role, she’ll have to starve off fierce competition from a bevy of other young starlets reportedly interested in the role. Riley Keough, who co-starred with Kristen in the 2010 biopic The Runaways, Felicity Jones (Cemetery Junction), Sucker Punch actress Emily Browning, and Swedish screen star Alicia Vikander all recently screen-tested for the part.
Stewart is currently filming the final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn Part II, and recently completed work on the film drama On the Road.
The film is set for release on Dec. 21, 2012.
